LOWER HAIGHT VICTORIAN

Our clients, a San Francisco family originally from England, loved this house for its Victorian bones -- a rather familiar style for them given their roots! So while we honored and retained the original millwork throughout the house wherever possible, we were otherwise "unprecious" about preserving too much, opting instead to tailor the finishes and colors and style of each room to the vibrancy of our clients' imaginations.

This project was a collaboration with San Francisco Design Build, where we fully reconfigured the main floor of the house, moving the staircase to the garage, into the foyer (it was previously taking up space and disrupting flow in the kitchen!). The renovation was also motivated by a desire to increase the usability of the home’s kitchen + powder room, and open up the kitchen to the backyard for indoor:outdoor living.
