SAN FRANCISCO DECORATOR SHOWCASE, 2023
“Reflections on Stardust” is the movie room downstairs at the SF Decorator Showcase House, located in Sea Cliff, San Francisco, whose proceeds fund tuition scholarships for students of University High School. Our movie room includes a wet bar, as well as a walk-in wine cellar nestled within our room.
Inspired by space observatories and musings on our cosmic connections in this life and beyond, this atmospheric media room is at once transportive and yet cozily familiar. It is a space for movie nights, deep conversations and even deeper belly-laughs with loved ones, or for getting lost in dreamy thoughts while peering into constellations embedded throughout the room. Our room’s immersive design belies the simplicity of its furnishings: the one sofa, custom designed with 2 chaises and plush cushions, surrounds a 3-piece “TV table” that comes together ask an octagon – connecting this space to the architecture of the house upstairs. The wet bar, with a tile mosaic that continues the enveloping murals, makes space for cocktails and sparkling water, which pair perfectly with wines and sakes stashed in our positively psychedelic plaster and acrylic wine cellar across the room. We are all born of stardust, and we will all return to stardust – and in between, may we all receive love and energy from the brightness of each other’s stars.
Our room has been featured by 7x7, Architectural Digest, California Home + Design, SF Gate, KBB, Sonoma Magazine, and The San Francisco Standard.
