CABIN ONE
This cabin is the Designer and her husband’s beloved home in Kings Beach, North Lake Tahoe. The couple found the property in 2017, falling in love with its bones and soul, and also being delighted that the house had not been renovated since it was built in 1972 (an interior designer’s guilt-free remodeling dream). Over the next 6 years (but if you ask Noz, the project perhaps is never-ending!), they gut-renovated and decorated every room in the house, imbuing these spaces with their take on nostalgic, cozy “Old Tahoe” charm.
With a mix of antique finds from Japan, vintage furniture and decor from across the US and Europe, Windy Chien X Brightbound draping light fixtures, and Noz’s custom “Convotatsu” (a furniture concept designed and built for the House Beautiful 2020 Whole Home Concept House), the great room is the couple’s favorite space – which includes the kitchen and breakfast nook. Across the 4 small bedrooms, bathrooms, and secret bonus room, other highlights include a bedroom with her husband’s childhood bunk beds, a wet room designed with Buffalo Plaid tile, murals evoking cuckoo clock folk art motifs depicting flora from the Tahoe region, and a one-of-a-kind quilt in a traditional Sayagata pattern, designed by Noz with Christopher Farr Cloth for a charity fundraiser at Nantucket by Design.
